The article discusses the science and theory of management, the authors correlate the concepts of "management". The historical analysis of management as an economic discipline is carried out. The paper gives a legal assessment of modern Russian management in the field of agro-industrial complex. It is concluded that modern management in the agricultural sector of the economy has new and complex tasks for the development of agricultural entrepreneurship in modern conditions of financial and economic instability.
