Abstract. The development of domestic tourism in the Sverdlovsk region is one of the areas aimed not only at the popularity and prestige of the region, but also at attracting low-income groups to the cultural heritage of the region. The purpose of the article is to analyze the development of tourism in the Sverdlovsk region in its individual areas. In Table 1, the author analyzed the main events that began to be held annually in the region in order to popularize the cultural sites of the region. The main part of the article in Table 2 examines the main types of tourism carried out in the Sverdlovsk region. The author identified 10 areas of tourism that operate within the region. In conclusion, it is summarized that the development of domestic tourism provides the region with additional financial resources for the development of the infrastructure of the Sverdlovsk region, contributes to an increase in interest among residents of the region and other regions in the cultural heritage of the Urals and is one of the sources of information on the history of the region.
