Abstract. The relevance of this article is that the development of domestic tourism in Russia is one of the main tasks in the tourism industry. Due to the sanctions of unfriendly countries, trips of Russians to other countries, especially European ones, have significantly decreased. Therefore, the development of domestic tourism and its popularity largely depend on the regions where different tourist destinations are developing. One of these destinations has become gastronomic tourism. The purpose of the article is to analyze the development of gastronomic tourism in the Sverdlovsk region. Therefore, the author analyzed the main events that have become annually held in the region for the purpose of not only entertainment, but also popularization of this direction and attraction of tourist flows. The main part of the article considers gastronomic tourism events that are traditionally held in the cities of the Sverdlovsk region. The review of events includes not only festive events, but also events that operate on a permanent basis in order to attract tourist flows. In conclusion, it is summarized that the development of gastronomic tourism is one of the areas that annually attracts an increasing number of tourists.
