Currently, Russian wineries are adapting to the dynamic changes in economic and legal working conditions. At the same time, they face such market problems as the inertia of consumer consciousness and a decrease in the effectiveness of familiar promotion strategies. The article presents the historical background of the development of viticulture in Russia. The comparative characteristics of the wineries of the Southern Federal District are presented. Modern technologies of cultivation and processing of grapes are considered.
