Abstract. This article reviews new wastewater treatment technologies. Biothelys technology requires large tracts of land for each plant and must be supplied with a lot of wastewater every day in order to produce enough biogas to remain viable. Exelys technology can perform well in a smaller space and requires less wastewater to maintain operation. Another technology that performs three functions at the same time, microbial fuel cell (MFC) technology uses bacteria to purify wastewater. One of the biggest obstacles to wastewater treatment is deciding what to do with the sludge that forms. Solar photocatalytic wastewater treatment can reduce the amount of sludge by over 80 percent compared to traditional wastewater treatment systems. All of the above technologies are discussed in more detail in the article. Wastewater treatment is of global importance in the modern world.
Key words: wastewater, purification, pollutants, hydrolysis, solar photolytics, natural.
