Chrome plating is a long-discovered technology for creating decorative, corrosion-resistant, hard chrome coatings by electroplating. However, nowadays the quality of the coatings and the productivity potential of their application have been largely exhausted, so, new goals and directions for the development of chrome plating are emerging. Such as automation and optimization of existing processes, creation of new equipment for chrome plating, new alloys and composites by electroplating. This article will review the research on the mentioned directions, modern research aimed at improving the quality of coatings and the environmental friendliness of the process and the relevant topic of treatment of wastewater having a negative impact on the environment in galvanic shops engaged in chrome plating.
Key words: galvanic, chromium plating, galvanic process control, galvanic plant, galvanic coating, anode, chromium alloy, chromium composite, chromium waste, electrodeposition.
