studied agrarian policy in the USSR in 1953 – early 1960s are characterized by measures on development of agriculture adopted by the decision of the September (1953) Ple-num of the CPSU Central Committee. Among them – the introduction of the principle of firm taxation per hectare of farmland regardless of its profitability, the abolition of taxes on the own-ership of livestock and the mandatory supply of agricultural products from personal plots, write-off of tax arrears for the past years, as well as the increase in the size of individual households. Changes in the priorities of the development of the agricultural sector of the economy of the USSR after the displacement of G.M. Malenkov are shown, the main directions of the proposed 2 N.S. Khrushchev «state farm» type of agricultural development are characterized, the results of mass development of virgin and fallow lands, the transformation of the collective farms in the state farms, the elimination of machine-tractor stations, «corn fever», «Ryazan initiative», re-strictions on the development of individual households, etc.
