Abstract. This article examines innovative heat generation systems using the example of Municipal Unitary Enterprise TEPLOENERGY. Technological equipment, financial support and strict compliance with technical regulations in municipal heat supply make it possible to exclude subjective factors that are characteristic of many territorial enterprises and cause their economic lag. This makes it possible to focus research on the main aspects of innovation systems instead of the traditional discussion of current issues. The development of the Municipal Unitary Enterprise TEPLOENERGO over several years and the results of the innovative activity of the enterprise are presented.
